My_____. It's coming and I myself do not like it at all. While I know profiles have nothing to do with how well someone can role-play I will admit that it is a wonderful gateway for some us to fall into character or have easy access to another character's information in order to have accurate rps.
My____ is relaunching and is no longer place for friends but place for entertainment <--Their words.
It's a place to check out the latest music movies, and celebrity gossip. I'm not sure how well this will serve us anymore. In addition profiles will no longer support 1.0 or 2.0. Layouts will no longer exist in 3.0 but are replaced with templates. These templates are pre-made and the most personalizing you can get with them is creating your own background if done in the right way. They are planning to create a 'create your own template' application but it will still have to meet with their standards and follow their guidelines. There is no HTML or CSS and you will NOT be able to copy paste codes of any kind into any area you can type in(ex; "about me" or "who I'd like to meet"). Not only that, but it seems that comments will also be minimized even more then they had already.
The change to 3.0 is mandatory and has already started. Their goal is to have every account transferred over by the end of this month once they've corrected a few bugs.
This is where you come in. I am not here to be an evil dictator. I implore you to go out and find out more about these changes and decide whether you will be happy with them or not. Let's discuss it here and figure out where everyone is at.
I for one will not be happy with the changes and in fact I can sense that it will soon kill the rp community on myspace. While I do hold a tremendous amount of sentimental attachment there comes a point were you have to just move on I suppose.
So, should we move? Or stick it out? I know sitemodel supports 1.0 profiles. You could just copy paste everything from one to the other without a problem.
I should also take the time to advise you all save your layouts. Copy all the codes and put them on a word doc, note pad, or whatever it is you use. Because once the switch happens it will all be gone. I cannot stress how important this is. Whether we decide to move or not you should have it ready just in case.
With that said, I leave you all with an open floor.

I'm just going to get this off my chest and say that Myspace is a buzzkill, but what I've seen other RPG's are doing is having a vote on whether to move or not. The bad thing about Sitemodel is that it is incredibly slow. and could use a few updates. But I'm willing to do whatever that we can agree upon, whether it is moving or staying.

I, for one, lost interest in that site ever since 2.0 showed its ugly face. Old friends are long gone, replaced by drama-filled annoyances. When 3.0 does hit, and my precious layout is gone, you'll find me here since I'll be abandoning that site which has long since lost its charm. Also, www.oneworldroleplay.com/That site supposedly integrates, or will integrate, 1.0 layout coding. I already made my own account which will be made active once 3.0 hits. www.oneworldroleplay.com/poseidonI wont be on there as often as I'll visit this site. That account is just a backup should that site become more popular. Either way, message me here once myspaz falls.

I think I'm also gonna make an account on OWR and Sitemodel and test out the waters in terms of their speeds and management. Maybe it's gotten better with everyone signing up there? I'll leave any feedback I acquire here.

This is the link to sitemodel; sitemodel.net/I've made accounts on both places. Both sites seem to run fine for me in terms of speed, but that can perhaps be affected by different computers and what kind of ram you posses. OWR isn't that scary looking, definitely easier to maneuver around in terms of knowing where to find comments and messages and such. My only problem(which is a minor one by the way and can be overlooked) is that you can't hide the profile info box or url box on the profile and the top bar cannot be removed. Myspace codes will also require some tweaking and so far I've only found one place that is providing codes for the site thus far. But like I said, it's not that big of a problem, profiles(for those of us who like to have them neat and organized with our characters information) will just need to be moved around to where everything is even again. It's very much like first gen myspace. And not only does HTML and CSS work but so does java and other such things to support playlist or youtube videos. Another plus is that it's all role-players so no problems with weird adds. Sitemodel will take in the same codes you used on myspace WITHOUT any problems or tweaking. All hiding codes work and it will look like a perfect replica aside from one thing. Java is NOT supported. So no videos or playlist for now unless they eventually update their systems. Aside from that, I also always seem to get errors, making me refresh more than I am used to. But like I said, these problems may be fixed. Here's a message the admins actually sent out; We will be moving to a dedicated server in the next few weeks due to growth. We are in the process of fixing those server errors you keep seeing. If you have uploaded an image and comes out HUGE re-upload it again. New Features that are coming with the next update: -Rearrangeable Top Friends (On Demand!) -Rearrangeable Album Pictures -User Status (On Demand!) -Profile Music Player Fix -Band Profile Fix -HTML editors for messages, blogs, comments, journals -Ability to Upload 5 Pictures at a time (maybe multi-upload) -A bunch of other website fixes -And more we will keep you posted (: ANYWAY, yeah a vote would be cool. I for one, don't like the new homepage x__X and normally I would adjust if it weren't for the fact that our layouts will be taken away and the 500 character limit with replies -.- Edit; so I figured out how to add playlist on sitemodel(still no youtube tho). With that said my feedback on the matter is; Sitemodel is a perfect replica on myspace 1.0 first gen. including the homepage layout. So use that information however you want. You can check out the SM I did and see that there is hardly a difference from my profile on myspace; sitemodel.net/16635the links on there don't work since I just transfered my codes from myspace to see how they look.

Still playing with sitemodel, here's a plus; if you write out your post on a word doc like a lot of people do, and put in your breaks and bold codes there with spellcheck then when you copy and past it to comment it will post the ENTIRE thing. No multiple posts needed.

I've given both sites a chance and I think sitemodel would be the best bet if we have to move. I want to keep waiting it out and see exactly what it is myspace is changing into first. Though, I should add that I very much dislike the limits in comments and messages so far. Hopefully it's just a glitch, if not then it's going to be a problem for us, hence the possible move.

So, I actually have my main rp account on sitemodel, and it's just like the old myspace. I know people are saying that the server is slow and keeps messing up, but the owners said they're moving to a dedicated server sometime in the next week. And surprisingly, I was able to get past the Java thing, because I've got a hypster playlist on my profile. I really don't mind either way if we stay or move somewhere else, but I just think sitemodel would be way easier.

I'm more of a forum fan if only because things are more organized. Either way, after the 3.0 homepage upgrade I'm officially done with my____. Its simply too ugly, unresponsive and slow.
